Watch: Virat Kohli confronts fans mocking after dismissal at MCG, security officer takes him back

A video circulating on social media captures the moment when Kohli, visibly upset glared at a group of fans who were booing him on his way back from the tunnel.
Virat Kohli found himself embroiled in a series of confrontations with fans at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) during Day 2 of the fourth Test. The discontent stemmed from his actions on the previous day, when he engaged in a heated exchange with 19-year-old debutant Sam Konstas. This altercation escalated to a physical confrontation, resulting in a penalty from the match referee.
Despite the incident occurring on the first day, the crowd continued to express their displeasure towards Kohli throughout the match, creating a tense atmosphere at the MCG. The hostility towards Kohli began during the opening session as India struggled on the field, with spectators audibly expressing their disapproval towards the Indian captain.
The situation reached a boiling point towards the end of Day 2 when Kohli was dismissed after a promising partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal had just departed after a mix-up with Kohli, losing his wicket on 82. Shortly after, Kohli was caught behind for 36 while attempting to play a delivery outside off-stump by Scott Boland, an area where he has faced difficulties.
