Numerous attempted burglaries linked to series of crimes, police warn

Thames Valley Police says it received a report of an attempted burglary in Bell Lane, Brightwell-Cum-Sotwell near Wallingford. 

The incident occurred on the night of Saturday (February 1).

The targeted house had an alarm which activated at approximately midnight and damage was found to a downstairs window.

Anyone with information about this incident should contact Thames Valley Police online or via 101 with the reference 43250054057. 

Nearby, police also received a report of an attempted burglary in Aston Street, Aston Tirrold near Didcot. 

The incident occurred at 2.30am on Sunday (February 2) in which offender(s) attempted to gain entrance to a property by causing damage to a window.

Anyone with information about this incident should contact police with the reference 43250055716.

Police also received a report of a burglary in Castle Street, Wallingford.

The incident occurred between 11pm on Saturday (February 1) and 8am on Sunday, in which an offender gained access through the kitchen window, which had been damaged and forced open.

Police say the keys to the occupants vehicle were stolen.

Police are appealing for anyone who has information, CCTV or door cam footage for the three incidents to come forward.  

A statement issued by the force said: “This appears to be a series within the area and across the force so please refer to our website for crime prevention advice at www.thamesvalley.police.uk/burglary, and if you see anything suspicious or of concern, please contact us on 999 or 101.
