'Gisele Pelicot has put the spotlight on what rape victims go through in a trial'

The French man who has admitted to enlisting dozens of strangers to rape his heavily-sedated wife asked forgiveness from his family on Monday and hailed the courage of his now ex-spouse during his trial. She says that Gisele Pelicot is the ‘perfect victim, with the perfect evidence’; despite that, defense lawyers tried to chip away at her credibility ‘going almost as far as accusing her of lying’.
